My approach is simple: we pause, listen, unpack what’s happening, and move forward with clarity. What makes my work unique is how I balance structure with creativity. About Mary
Founder of Evolved Education Company. Writer. Educator. Creative guide. I believe that writing is a powerful tool for both personal transformation and community impact. This is where I share that belief in action – with you.
I love to write, sketch, model and use my unique thoughts to improve the world.
For many years, I was hesitant to engage in writing, in a way that suited me specifically. For instance, I love producing short-form, practical, research-driven education models which can improve the learning lives of students. For a while, I was hesistant to produce these books because I looked around to what books were and I saw them being so in depth, so theoretical, and I thought to myself, “I don’t think I can publish this because it doesn’t belong and won’t be useful to others.”
I am really glad I wrote that thought down and looked at it. I changed my mind and wrote something else entirely. It felt “me” and I still love it to this day. “Mary, you have unique ways of looking at learners. Share those ideas because they will reach people who need them.” And now, I say the same to you. “Reader, You have unique ways of looking at ___. Share those ideas because they will reach people who need them.”
I hope that we can discover fun, free form written expression in our weekly practice together. A form of expression that moves beyond what we already experience and into what only we can produce – wisdom for you and for us.
At my core, I am a teacher. Whether I’m working 1:1 with a student, guiding a family through the admissions process, or helping educators grow in their practice, my mission stays the same:

About Mary
I am a teacher, consultant, and the founder of The Evolved Education Company, an organization I created to ensure that students, families, and educators learn well. For more than three decades, I’ve worked across classrooms, schools, and communities, always driven by the same question: How do we learn and live well?
I began my career as a special education teacher in New York City public schools, working with middle school students with diverse learning profiles. From there, I served as a Learning Specialist, Dean, and Head of Learning Services at independent schools such as Spence, Nightingale-Bamford, and Hewitt. These experiences led me to launch The Evolved Education Company in 2014, which today supports families with assessments, tutoring, test preparation, admissions consulting, and executive function coaching, while also training professionals.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Special and Elementary Education and a Master of Arts in Psychological Foundations of Reading from NYU, along with graduate coursework in Educational Leadership. I’m certified in New York State and New York City as a Special Education Teacher and Reading Specialist, and I’ve trained in executive function, multisensory math, SRSD writing, and college counseling at UCLA.
Along the way, I’ve authored books and resources including Supporting School: A Guidebook for Parents and Educators, Disability: Ability, How to Tutor, 10 Steps to Private School Admissions, and the Evolved Education Integrated Executive Function Coaching Model. I also created the Evolved Education Student Planner and host the Be Evolved Podcast.
My work has given me the privilege of speaking at conferences such as Learning & the Brain and the ACO International Conference, and with organizations including Convent of the Sacred Heart, St. Ignatius Loyola Nursery School, UBS, Neuberger Berman, Blackstone, and the Parents League.
What makes my approach unique is how I combine both science and soul. I bring research, strategies, and proven frameworks into a process that also respects creativity, individuality, and circumstance. I partner deeply with families, students, and professionals—listening first, then co-creating an evolved way forward.
